ACCSP SCAN SPECIALIST
SALARY RANGE – $35,000-45,000 ANNUALLY

Responsibilities: As the ACCSP Scan Specialist, the applicant will be responsible for scanning,
data capture and validation of recreational survey data forms submitted by the ACCSP Program
Partners in support of the Marine Recreational Information Program Access Point Angler Intercept
Survey (MRIP APAIS). This position will work closely with ACCSP staff, providing support and
assistance in the compilation, analysis, use and dissemination of data collected and stored by the
ACCSP. See attached position description.
The Atlantic Coastal Cooperative Statistics Program (ACCSP) is a state-federal cooperative program
for the collection, standardization, management, and dissemination of Atlantic coast marine and
estuarine fisheries- dependent statistics. This position is based out of the Arlington, Virginia
office of the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC), which provides administrative
support for the ACCSP. This position will require rare overnight travel, primarily along the
Atlantic Coast. The Scan Specialist reports to the ACCSP Recreational Program Manager. For more

Qualifications: Applicants must have an associate’s degree; a bachelor’s degree in computer or
fisheries science or related field is highly desired. Scanning and data validation tasks require
an individual with proficient computer skills, attention to detail, and strong organizational
skills. They should exercise sound judgement to identify and report problems and contribute to
resolving them. Strong oral and written communication, coordination and interpersonal skills should
be demonstrated. The salary for this position will be established, within the range listed above,
based on the experience and background of the applicant. United States citizenship required.
