PROGRAM MANAGER I
Inland Fisheries Regional Operations Manager
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources, Fisheries Service, is currently accepting applications for a Program Manager I position within the Inland Fisheries Division. The selected candidate will function as the Manager of Field Operations and is responsible for 15 staff members at 5 regional offices statewide. The primary purpose of this position is to supervise and oversee staff in the investigation, monitoring, data analysis, and technical reporting for inland aquatic resources statewide.
Other responsibilities include: the development of strategies and measurable achievement standards to meet regional management goals across all state regions; assisting in the development of federal aid grant proposals which largely fund Inland Fisheries management activities; ensuring that regional staff perform federal aid grant duties according to prescribed requirements including preparation and submission of performance reports to federal aid coordinators; ensuring that resource information is integrated with that of other state and federal agencies to develop management plans for sustainable fisheries; assisting with the development of law and regulation proposals to help meet management goals and objectives; and conducting environmental review to ensure Inland Fisheries concerns regarding proposed projects are conveyed to regulatory agencies (through the permitting process) to help avoid or minimize negative impacts to the environment and natural resources.
