Moderator: Doug Austen, Executive Director, American Fisheries Society
• Science and Data 101 – Introducing the need for information to support fisheries management (Patrick Sullivan, Cornell University, Ithaca, New York – confirmed)
• Environmental and Ecological Knowledge – Connecting fish stocks to their ecosystems to inform managers (Jeremy Collie, University of Rhode Island, Narragansett, RI – confirmed)
• Interdisciplinary Needs – Crossing fields, issues, and organizational structures to understand the grand picture (Troy Hartley, Virginia Institute of Marine Science, Gloucester Point, VA – confirmed)
• Discovery – Filling gaps with new knowledge based on scientific explorations (Martha Nizinski, NOAA/NMFS Office of Science and Technology, Washington, DC – confirmed)
Format: Each panelist will make a 12-minute presentation, followed by a few minutes for questions. We’ll end with 30 minutes for group discussion.
